there's a serious weather system moving through the region today. we had a wet start. we're seeing a lot of moisture on the ground. the rain has stopped, but the winds are arriving. as you can see by the shaking of the harbor cam. if you can shake the cam -- apparently, the winds will pick

up from here on out. we have the complete weather coverage for you. marty bass is in the out back and tim williams is in the weather senter. >> there are two parts to have the storm systems. first, the rain and then the winds. we'll look at what moved on through here. we had rain moving through yesterday evening. now, the last line of the front pushing through will be approaching baltimore soon. after that moves through with a slight hint of a thunderstorm embedded in that, it moves out. let's talk about the rain and into the day. we have rain on an average about half an inch or so. we had .62 inches around towson and salsberg weed a habit 1/2 inch.

house committee to vote it out of committee and bring it to the floor of the house of delegates hopefully with the same out come as they got from the senate last night. when the number 25 popped up, the supporters knew they had won, but by one vote more than a thread. the future of the marriage may be hanging by a thread in the house, there was relief in the minds of people like these. >> i'm a stay at home mother, next month, we'll celebrate our 15th anniversary. out of anyone in the gay community, a stay at home parent feels the greatest financial effects. getting it through will be a huge help. >> reporter: it may be an uphill battle. opponents are likely to take the measures to the voters.

this terror suspect into a federal courthouse in texas this morning. the student from saudi arabia is charged with attempted use of weapon of christmas destruction. he plan -- weapon of mass destruction. he planned on targeting power plants and dams and the home of george w. bush. he was arrested yesterday. inside the apartment, the authorities found bomb making materials. the fbi says that a north carolina company tipped them off when he tried to buy large amounts of a third chemical needed. he came to the u.s. on a student visa to study chemical engineering. on his blog, he wrote, only gratification fromala is what i

a bold move to advance controversial legislation doesn't go over well with protestors in the wisconsin assembly. were blowing -- through. right there, this is the line of storms starting to roll on through here. it's starting to blow on through. what we're dealing with here, we're dealing with heavy winds and the winds are picking up behind the thunderstorm. we have a flashing thunderstorm watch here in effect until 4:00 p.m.. that's because of this system that's roming on through. -- rolling on through. as this line moves out of here, the winds will pick up. we're not seeing much after that. the winds will pick in, but this is generating the thunderstorms. that's until 4:00 until it moves out of the area. again, expect gusty winds. we have warnings in effect until 2:00. we'll see them soon. right now, the temperatures shot up to 63 degrees dew point is up at 54. the humidity is up, the sun came out and evaporated the

rain. now, the moisture is kicking in. we're in the 60s. it will drop on through. the winds will pick on up. the winds are at 15 miles per hour. look at the gusts. 30 near oakland. 34miles per hour gusts. you can see the contrast. it's 63, 66 in atlanta. look at a high near 31 in chicago. that's going to cool down here quickly. the winds will pick up. the low is going to move to the north and past the northwest here. it's going to start to allow cooler air to rush on in behind it. while we're in the 60s now, we'll drop into the 20s tonight. with the cooler air comes clearer skies. definitely, it's going to be a contrast in the temperatures. not bitterly cold. we'll keep an eye on the storms for you. storm warning -- a storm warning ant bay. you don't see that often. that's from 6:00 to 7:00.
